Do you know the real meaning of 'charisma?' It isn't (of a person) enthusiastic and/or charming: it’s the mark of an astute leader. America was shaped by charismatic leaders since it’s early beginnings.

Posted: 22-Oct-2024

America was founded by Puritan Christians in the seventeenth century. Since then, it was and continues to be a God-fearing nation. However, you may be surprised to know that its leaders have all had an inexplicable, crowd-pulling power called ‘charisma.’ Now, ‘charisma’ isn’t what we commonly think it is; rather, it has a long history dating back to the ancient Greeks, and profound and complex psychological meanings. It defies reason. Otherwise, how did the Germans once choose Hitler, of all, as their leader? Or, did Indians choose M K Gandhi as theirs?

Come, let’s discover the real meaning of the term from Spellbound, a book written an American history professor that traces the origins, rise, and destructive influence of charisma over nearly four centuries of history (1634 – now).

Recommended if you are caught in the maze created by ‘living in the moment’ and can’t find a way out!

Posted: 02-Oct-2024

In our schooldays, we tagged along with our classmates because we craved their recognition and acceptance. This continued when we grew up. We drifted into ‘living in the moment,’ eager to please our peers and family. We didn’t have a plan for the future. Our horizon was today, and never mind if it conflicted with what our minds said was right, we kept doing it anyway... It was a “heart over head” situation that didn’t pay. Living without integrity, meaning, and purpose ultimately took its toll, and we were forced to rethink life when it began to hurt. We were going nowhere but rather round and round in small circles. We weren’t ready for the huge waves that would strike and capsize our life’s boat tomorrow!

Jolted by the realization of the dangers ahead, for the first time, we let our head take control of our lives (of course, the heart stayed, but the head took control!).

That was when the author found the way out by opting for a life of dignity and meaning by doing honest work!

If you’re similarly floundering in life, you may want to take a note out of the author’s life by reading this book.  You too could live a life of fulfillment, dignity, and purpose by introspecting on your situation and applying corrective changes that put you on the path to personal victory TODAY!!

Expect no end to the Middle Eastern conflict without a fundamental change in attitudes on both sides, says historian Daniel Pipes, an expert on the Middle East conflict.

Posted: 16-Jul-2024

Over 140 years of conflict. Over 92,000 known deaths (74,000 being military deaths). Over $12 trillion lost. And there appears to be no end yet in sight to the Arab-Israeli conflict!

Israel offers placation when attacked. However, a furious Palestine inevitably rejects Israel's placatory efforts and responds with aggression and war. It’s always been like this: fruitless cycles of conciliation vs. rejection, which has now reached a stalemate.

Will this war never end? Possibly “Yes,” concludes Middle East expert and author Daniel Pipes unless Israel and Palestine, the warring sides, embrace a fundamental change in attitudes to end the stalemate. Read Pipes’ book “Israel Victory: How Zionists Win Acceptance and Palestinians Get Liberated” to gain an in-depth history and scholarly analyses on the Arab-Israeli crisis, concluding with a practical solution to end it by the author.

Can you really become like Jesus Christ? It’s admittedly tough, but not impossible, says author John Avery!

Posted: 21-Jun-2024

Christianity is a religion loved most by some, yet hated most by others. It draws instant flak from many, but many others shower praise and blessings on it. Against this backdrop, Jesus keeps proving himself over and over again. Although he died physically, he lives in the ‘next world’, and from life experiences, countless believers like me will attest to the fact that he lives, acts, and keeps all his promises.

Although some doubt Christianity, if the Bible story is indeed true, Jesus undoubtedly stands out as a formidable character — the like of whom the world has never seen and may never see in the future! His life has inspired many to be like him. M K Gandhi, India’s ‘Father of the Nation’ once said "If Christians would really live according to the teachings of Christ, as found in the Bible, all of India would be Christian today.”

If that sounds inspiring enough, do you want to become like Jesus? It’s tough, but not impossible!! Read this book to find out how...

(Note: Though it’s an advanced book aimed at Christians, all are welcome to read it.)

Per Quantum Theory, “Everything is energy.” This is a story of two criminal organizations that seek to misuse it but fail.

Posted: 14-May-2024

According to Quantum Physics, “Everything is energy.” Objects influence one another by the energy in them. Consequently, a trained expert can alter the state of your mind by sending and/or receiving energy from and to it from theirs. Energy healers bring about soothing relief to those suffering from mental trauma, fear, anguish, prolonged abuse, etc. using their mental energy. There are possibly a lot more good things you can do for others using the “everything is energy” theory. Sadly, however, this also opens the door for malevolent minds to misuse it and influence/subjugate unsuspecting people to fulfill their evil plans.

In this sci-fi+crime+mystery story, an energy healer is trailed by two malevolent organizations that seek to do just that! They want to capture and use him as a medium to attain their evil goals. He fights them off valiantly and wins but pays a stiff price in the process.

An enjoyable alternative to John Milton’s ‘Paradise Lost’: it's poetry, short and sweet! Aimed at ordinary readers like you and me!!

Posted: 22-Apr-2024

Fascinated by John Milton’s classic ‘Paradise Lost’ but never read the story? You might initially think it’s a cakewalk — all you need is to download a free electronic copy and read it! Pretty straightforward isn’t it? Think again... The original book is overloaded with theology, philosophy, history, poetic nuances, etc. And, in addition, it’s in 17th-century English! Think you can tackle a mighty, ancient work like this? Take my advice, you can’t! And you certainly won’t enjoy the experience if you do!! So turn back...

An alternative? Read this simplified version, also written in poetry, which has similar illustrations, and retains the pith of the story intact. It’s a delightful summary of Milton’s original, in near-modern English. It will treat you to some excellent poetry and you’ll get the complete story too, without missing any detail!

Using ChatGPT without ethics can be likened to driving carefree on busy city roads and intersections without traffic lights! You could accidentally infringe upon someone else’s copyright and face a lawsuit. Others might misuse it for grossly illegal purposes bringing ill repute to ChatGPT's developers, who gave this software free to you and to the world. If you simply copy and paste content out of it, you might end up killing creativity in writing. And there are lots more bad consequences... How will you prepare yourself to be a ‘complete writer’ in these circumstances? Learn the ethics to follow in AI-assisted writing from this book and meet the future with confidence.
