There are quotes about all walks of life and human endeavor. Existing in this collection are certain quotes relating to turning points in history. Kings, heads of state, military commanders, or great thinkers delivered them.

If you traverse them chronologically, going back or forward, you may be able to relive history.

This book traces American political history from 1789, when the first president, George Washington, took office, to the present by a list of quotes they made on historic occasions. Since the U.S. is the world’s foremost nation, some of these quotes affected America as well as other parts of the world, while others had only local impact (within the U.S.).

To complement the quotations, the book also includes a selection of historic speeches by U.S. presidents after the quotes.
