80 How Politics Has Distorted the Gospel by Jamie Cowen

We know for sure that both politics and religion are indispensible and invaluable to all mankind. From the former we have a Gov and from the latter, a conscience. However, these two giant institutions, never mix well. On the contrary, when they stand separate but strike the right balance, a nation prospers. When the right balance is struck, Gov’s work is approved/upheld by the nation’s conscience and everything works fine. On the other hand, if Gov fails to deliver what the nation desires in an honorable and ethical manner, they will face criticism and censure from the religious and the value keepers of the nation. And if they fail to mend their ways, they will incur the wrath of the nation and be removed from office soon.

However, this is not how things are happening in the USA today. Ever since the 2020 Presidential election, misguided religious folks in the USA are hard at work to take control of Gov and turn it into a so-called “Christian Gov”. They aren’t true to the Bible and use despicable and crooked means to achieve their goals. This book is an eye-opener and an urgent wake-up call to Americans to get up and stop the damage ASAP.

79 The Great Deception by Dieter Schaede

Like all things twisted and crooked, deception never pays. Deceivers might soar aloft mightily for a while but shall bite the dust in the end! Hitler, the grand deceiver, used propaganda and polished deception to mislead the world as well as rule Germany during WW2. And he did soar very high for a while, until destiny struck him down!

In Hitler’s administration and military, deception was the primary indgredient used to craft victories rather than power. It was practiced at all levels and no one was spared. Not only skilled civilians recruited for work but German military officers and men themselves routinely disappeared (i.e., they were sent to death by pre-planned deceptive plots) after being ‘used’ for a while. Read this story that tells how the German military cleverly deceived an upright, kind-hearted, fine artist to work for them until it was too late for him to escape.

73 My 730 Days at the Gates of Hell by Philip van Heusen

Nelson Mandela, who spent 27 years in prison said “It is said that no one truly knows a nation until one has been inside its jails. A nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens, but its lowest ones.”

My 730 Days at the Gates of Hell by Philip van Heusen is a candid account of an American pastor’s undeserved 2-year sentence in jail. In this book, he lays bare the grim state of life in America’s prisons, overseen by a monster judicial system that is blind, pitiless, and anti-human. Sure, retribution is one necessary function of any judicial system, but more than that, the one that is at the foundation of all is the function of correcting/ reforming law-breakers so that they can go back to society and live good, meaningful lives when released, but NOT destory them. But today’s judicial system has degenerated to just that. It's a lifeless machine that's out to destroy them—starting from prison, an institution that’s a veritable ‘Gates of Hell.’ If you can’t exit from it in some time, be sure it'll send you to real Hell soon.

No human institution can exist without a noble purpose, prison included. It’s simply revulsive to the conscience to think of prisons as institutions whose true objective is to slowly and inhumanely kill inmates who are powerless to offer any resistance. If they were hopeless, they should have been executed. If instead, the judicial system cast them in prison they tacitly admit that they did not find them worthy of death, or, in other words, they believe they are worthy of being allowed to live. If yes, to what purpose? Slowly and pitilessly kill? NO, the judicial system is clearly guilty. We need to work to turn them back to institutions that have correction at heart.

69 The Entwined Past by Fevs G

Cover of 'The Entwined Past' by Fevs G

Yes, men need women, and women need men, but women are no longer your playthings.

The modern woman is self-reliant, independent, and resourceful. She has her own identity. She is strong and she can live independently if she chooses to. Of course, it’s preferable to live with a man in the traditional family setting but they can do without men who are domineering, abusive, narcissistic, of double standards, violent, and so on. Only men who reciprocate love, understanding, respect, and care will be acceptable partners.

Read this crime-thriller story, that has three young ladies aged 17-22 at its centre. Apart from providing entertainment (by way of being a crime story), it portays the modern woman as brave, resourceful, and aware of her rights and options.

68 Gideon: God’s Mighty Man Of Valor by Bruce Hartman

Cover of "Gideon: God's Mighty Man of Valor" by Bruce Hartmann

(If you don’t belong to an Abrahamic religion like Christianity or Judaism) does the name Gideon sound familiar? Maybe it is if someone gifted you a Gideon’s New Testament or Bible sometime in life. Or if you stayed overnight in a hotel/motel and you noticed one on a table and picked it up to read or browse.

The Gideons are named after the Bible hero Gideon, an ordinary man whom God turned into a mighty warrior, simply because he made himself available to God. It is through Gideon that God gave the Israelites victory over the Midianites, who cruelly oppressed them for seven years. Gideon, with a small army of just 300 chosen men conclusively defeated the Midianite army comprised by 135,000 men! That is, an army 450 times bigger!! Gideon’s qualifications to head the Israelite army? None but a humble, brave, and loyal heart—and complete dependence on the Almighty.

Gideon’s life exemplifies every ‘ordinary’ person—i.e. billions of people across the globe, who aren’t especially gifted or talented (and in fact, may fear that they’re inadequate) to serve in any useful manner. But that doesn’t matter. Gideon’s example shows that if we’re willing to serve God, He’s more than willing, and glad to use us.

66 Otubrab's Dream by Peter Duke

Cover of "Otubrab's Dream" by Peter Duke

Jonathan Livingston Seagull needs no introduction, particularly if you were over 20 in the 1970s. His first appearance took the world by storm, a completely fresh story, setting the heart of many a budding perfectionist aflame with the spirit of excellence. Excellence without bounds is infinte, so if you try to soar, trying to set and break your highest record, it’s turns into a limitless pursuit far above ordinary thinking.

Needless to say, many fell for Jonathan all over the world and they began to imitate him silently. Neil Diamond was so inspired that he sang the theme song for the movie version. Others made the story their spiritual inspiration/model. Others even began to treat Jonathan as a spiritual symbol parallel to Jesus Chirst! Now he’s immortal and his story has become a classic.

Jonathan was forgotten until 2014 when he reappeared in ‘Jonathan Livingston Seagull: The Complete Edition.’ His spirit now reappears in “Otubrab’s Dream,” in the form of an unusual sea perch, named ‘Otubrab.’ He’s different and nonconformist. He too strives for perfection. He seeks to live true to himself and aims at higher things in life... but with a difference. Unlike Jonathan, he is foolhardy and foolhardiness gets the better of him.

“Let sensibility and wisdom ever guard you, while you imitate Jonathan Livingston Seagull in life,” seems to be the moral of this story!

65 Epiphany Colony: The Murder of Vincent Cortez by Aaron Cahoon

Cover of Epiphany Colony by Aaron Cahoon

Crime thrillers come in all kinds of flavors and twists: some are complex, some convoluted, some shocking and gruesome, and some that are quiet, intelligent and mentally stimulating. The Epiphany Colony: The Murder of Vincent Cortez by Aaron Cahoon is one in the final category.

This book has a great plot, one which is powerfully gripping. It hooked me right from the beginning and held my interest so strongly that I found it hard to put down even for essential breaks. The language used isn’t loud or forceful, rather it’s graceful and stimulating. Looks are good and I particularly liked the generous paragraph spacing that enhances readability.

If you’re into C/T/M/H books and looking for a good suggestion from among the latest crime thrillers, this book may be the right one for you!

64 Blinded by the Light by David Cordrey

Cover of 'Blinded by the Light' by David Cordrey

We often look on in anguish when see evil things happening to good people. Take for example the legendary US president Abraham Lincoln who left an indelible mark on American history. Or Dr Martin Luther King Jr. who faithfully worked for civil rights in the USA. And if we turn to India, M K Gandhi? They all suffered the cruel fate of being assassinated by the very people they served! How does this happen if a good God is the guardian of the Universe?

Apparently, there’s a good purpose even when upright people are made to suffer unjustly. This is one amazing book that answers that question squarely.

63 Ancient of Genes by Dan Gallagher

Cover of 'Ancient of Genes' by Dan Gallagher

The power of genetics as a tool to do harm is terrifying! Starting out with a harmless looking Fossil Gene Redemption (FGR) project to resurrect cryptids (i.e. extinct, ancient animals, a.k.a. Ice Age megafauna), brilliant American geneticist, Kevin Harrigan is tricked by an evil, Iraqi political mastermind (who secretly plans to rule the whole world in the manner of the feared Antichrist) to work for him in a secret laboratory in Megiddo, Israel. Very soon, his research changes direction and he is resurrecting dead human beings apart from cryptids... His work is secretly observed by Iraqi geneticists working in the same facility. They steal his work and develop scary, genetic weapons that can be targeted to inflict permanent disabilities/deformities in men and women based on nationality and other demographic factors. Armed with such mass-debilitating genetic weapons, the Iraqis are enabled to effortlessly win a war against the biggest world powers by using genetic weapons to simply disable their armies and healthy people!

If we study recent world trends, particularly rapidly dwindling natural resources (like water and food) vs. rising population, there’s hardly any doubt left that doomsday is drawing near. It won’t be long before people in need of life’s essentials are compelled to migrate en masse or source their needs from places elsewhere across the globe. Will Govs cooperate peacefully to satisfy people or will conflicting interests drive them to fight each other? And, if they fight, will any other outcome be possible, except that one among others in the fray wins and becomes the supreme ruling power of the whole world?

Plenty of people, particularly world leaders and power blocs have surely visualized this approaching scenario and are working hard (but secretly) to win the race for supremacy ... And religions call the dark winner as Antichrist...

Against this real-life backdrop, as this story portrays, could the winner-to-be really be developing genetic weapons now? And if yes, will power blocs that vie with them have any chance of winning?

This exciting story predicts that the key in the game plan of the dark face we’re about to see will indeed be advanced genetic weapons of mass-debilitating power! It’s mind-blowing and mind-boggling. It’s forbidding and ominous. It’s gripping and sinister. I’ll vouch it’s a masterpiece in the making!! So read it now... and don’t miss the opportunity at any cost! It’s like ‘Jurassic Park,’ ‘Jurassic World,’ and more.
