No! I really don’t want to die, I want to live… someone please save me!!

Posted: 22-Sep-2025

This book by an American suicide specialist with over 40 years of experience as a clinical social worker (after acquiring an MS degree in social work from George Williams College, Chicago) says exactly the above!

Most suicidal people don’t want to die. They want someone to intervene and save them from whatever insurmountable threat they are faced with, so they can AVOID SUICIDE!

Strictly speaking, this book is a supplementary resource book on suicide prevention/care for mental health professionals, so I recommend it primarily for clinical social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists. You are also welcome to read it for (i) general awareness, and (ii) to better prepare yourself to care for a friend or family member who may be at risk of suicide now or in the future.
